Features
Keep the practice musical.
Pick your instrument and level, set a tempo, and try a fresh exercise. Add piano accompaniment when you want it. Practice still takes practice; we’re just trying to make it less of a chore.
Start at your level
Six reading stages for each instrument, with suitable ranges and gradually more demanding rhythms and notation. There’s room to start slowly.
Play along
Listen to the score, set a tempo and add piano accompaniment. A metronome is included. Sorry about that.
See what you’ve practiced
A local journal keeps your practice time and measure count, so you can see those small sessions add up. No account is required.

Cadence is free to download and use. Instrument sounds download once during setup; after that, your exercises, sounds and practice history stay on your computer and work offline.
Help
Before you start.
Is Cadence free?
Yes. Cadence is free to download and use, including all six reading stages, playback and piano accompaniment.
Which instruments can I practice?
Cadence has dedicated reading paths for piano, violin, and standard four-string electric bass. Each path uses a range suited to the instrument.
Does Cadence listen to my playing?
No. Cadence provides a score, reference playback, a metronome, and accompaniment. It does not use microphone or MIDI input, or automatically score the accuracy of your playing.
Do I need an internet connection?
You need a connection for the initial instrument-sound download. Once the sounds are installed, practice works offline. Your practice history is stored locally.
